I take pride in what I do and strive for excellence. I am passionate about surfing and shaping surfboards and am grateful for the lifestyle it has given me.
I grew up in Long Beach, California and started surfing at 10 years old after buying and old Carl Hayward single fin from a neighbor. I quickly found myself consumed and my life seemed to revolve around surfing from then on.
I shaped my first surfboard in my parent's garage when I was 17. Painting and drawing were always a passion so shaping came naturally to me. I never had a mentor, I learned the hard way, on my own. It was a craft that I fell deep into.
In 1998 I met a French girl in Tahiti and in 2000 we moved to Hawaii together which is where my shaping career blossomed. Over the years I have had the pleasure of working alongside some of the best shapers and inspiring people I have known. Jon Pyzel, Eric Arakawa, Jim Richardson, Cino Magallenes, and Jeff Johnston are a few that have had the greatest influence on me. I have shaped for Pyzel Surfboards, Eric Arakawa, Shuji Kasuya Surfboards, Boardculture, Town and Country, and Hawaiian Island Creations. Shaping has taken me to Hawaii, Japan, Europe, and South America where I have made great friendships and unforgettable memories.
Today I reside n the North Shore of Oahu with my wife and two sons.
I take pride in what I do and strive for excellence. I love to surf and shape surfboards and am grateful for the lifestyle it has given me.
